It's summer once again and what better way to spend this season than traveling? But before you do so make sure that your car is fit to travel. Kit Johnson winner of NAPA's 2007 Technician of the Year from East Helena, Montana has provided some important maintenance tips to help you in preparing your vehicle for the long destinations ahead.
Mr. Johnson said, "Hitting the pavement and seeing the country from your car is one of America's most time-honored traditions. Unfortunately, some people end up on the side of the road because they forget to do simple preparations before the trip to keep their vehicle up and running."
Mr. Johnson recommends to have your cooling system checked, flushed, and filled before going on a long trip. Likewise, it is best also to inspect belts and hoses for signs of deterioration plus top off all your car fluids including antifreeze, power steering, engine oil, brake and transmission fluids and also the windshield washer solvent.
Summertime is also an opportunity to learn and to experiment with new gadgets and accessories that you can add to your car in order to enhance further its performance. Why not try your hands on some Hurst line lock and see the benefits that it can provide your car.
